First Class Snuggles: The Windsong Journey Home
Why a Boutique Flight Nanny is the Gold Standard for Puppy Travel
One of the questions we hear most often from families in the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies, and across the Southwest is: “How does my puppy actually get to me?”
It’s a question born out of love. We’ve spent over a decade perfecting the "Windsong Way"—raising our "Teddy Bears" underfoot with our five children—and we believe that the journey to your front door should be just as boutique and high-touch as their upbringing. Whether you’re a local neighbor or live a thousand miles away, we have two beautiful ways to start your "Golden Life" together.
The In-Cabin Difference: No Cargo, Only Care
The idea of putting a precious, eight-week-old puppy into a dark, loud cargo hold underneath an airplane is something we simply would never do. At Windsong, our standard is "First Class Snuggles."
Think of a flight nanny not as a "transporter," but as a personal concierge and travel chaperone for your new best friend. Instead of traveling like luggage, your puppy is tucked safely into a cozy, soft-sided carrier that stays right at the feet—and very often in the lap—of a trained professional throughout the entire flight. There are no cold crates or lonely warehouses. Instead, there are mid-flight snuggles, gentle whispers, and the constant reassurance of a human heartbeat.
A Personal Journey from Our Nursery to Your Arms
Our flight nannies are experts at navigating the "beautiful chaos" of the airport. They handle the security lines with care, manage mid-flight potty breaks (yes, even on a plane!), and send you photo and video updates from the gate and the cabin so you can follow your baby’s journey in real-time.
By the time they land, your puppy isn't traumatized or exhausted; they are simply waking up from a long nap, ready to be hand-delivered directly into your waiting arms at the arrivals gate. While boutique travel is an additional cost, our families tell us time and again that the peace of mind is worth every penny.
You’re Always Welcome to Pick Up in Southern California
While our nanny service is popular for those at a distance, we also love the personal connection of an in-person handoff! We always welcome our families to visit us in Southern California to pick up their puppy and officially join the Windsong family circle before heading home.
COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT WINDSONG TRAVEL
Where does the puppy stay during the flight?
Your puppy stays in the cabin, tucked under the seat or in the nanny's lap within a TSA-approved carrier. They are under constant human supervision from the moment they leave our living room until they reach yours.
Do you ever ship puppies in cargo?
Never. We believe in scientific integrity and emotional health, and the stress of a cargo hold goes against everything we stand for. Every Windsong baby travels "First Class."
Can I pick up my puppy in person?
Absolutely! We love meeting our families. Whether you’re driving from San Diego or flying in for a quick "turnaround" trip at the airport, we are happy to coordinate an in-person hand-off.What is the cost of a flight nanny?
Because this is a personalized, white-glove service, travel is an additional cost on top of the puppy price. This covers the nanny’s flight, the puppy’s ticket, and the professional care provided during the journey. Contact us for details.
