FAQs

  • Windsong is not just a breeder. We are a full breeding and training program. Our puppies are raised in our family home, never in a kennel, with full interaction from our five children and dedicated team. From day one, we begin a structured curriculum designed to set puppies up for success, tailored toward therapy and service work. This foundation creates puppies that are confident, resilient, and people-focused, ready to thrive as companions, therapy dogs, or service partners.

  • To secure your spot, complete an application and, once accepted, submit a non-refundable $500 reservation fee. This holds your place on our general reservation list and, if desired, a preferred litter list.

  • Puppies typically go home or begin training at 8 weeks old. Families choosing training programs may have their puppy stay longer for 2, 4, or 9 weeks, or enroll in advanced service or therapy programs.

  • Yes. Families join a general reservation list and can also choose a preferred litter list. If a particular pairing does not fit, your reservation can transfer to another.

  • Every puppy comes with a two-year written health guarantee covering life-altering genetic conditions. All parents are fully health-tested through complete DNA panels and OFA or PennHIP certifications.

  • Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, probiotics, and immune-supporting vitamins. This ensures they leave us healthy, strong, and ready to thrive in their new homes.

  • Yes. Puppies must be spayed or neutered by 12 months of age. Puppies are microchipped in Windsong’s name until proof of spay or neuter is provided. This policy helps protect our lines and ensures the health guarantee remains valid.

  • No. All puppies are sold on a strict no-breeding contract. Any violations may result in reclaim and penalties.

  • No. For safety reasons, we do not ship puppies via cargo. Puppies may fly home in-cabin with you, travel with an experienced puppy nanny, or be hand-delivered in certain cases.

  • Training is at the heart of Windsong. Every puppy begins with service and therapy-minded foundations and an expanded Puppy Culture curriculum. Families can choose from the following programs:

    • Puppy Kindergarten (2 or 4 weeks) – Socialization and exposure, crate training, potty training, commands, leash skills, calm behavior, boundaries, and good manners.

    • 9-week training program – Deeper confidence building and socialization, advanced skills such as long place holds, and preparation for families wanting a fully trained puppy or a jump start into service or therapy training.

    • Crate training and potty foundations

    • Name recognition

    • Basic manners (sit, down, come)

    • Leash introduction

    • Early socialization with children, household life, and public settings

  • By 4 weeks, puppies advance to:

    • Place and stay

    • Leash walking (inside the home) and crate entry

    • Grooming tolerance and handling

    • Confidence and patience building

    • Socialization with kids, pets, and public settings

  • At this time, all Windsong training programs are offered as board-and-train only.

  • We breed Multigen, F1, and F1b Goldendoodles. Each generation has unique coat, shedding, and temperament traits, and we guide families to the best match for their needs.

  • No breeder can fully guarantee coat traits. Many of our puppies are allergy-friendly, but shedding and coat type vary. We help guide families toward the right litter for allergy concerns.

  • We are based in Southern California and regularly serve families in San Diego, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Orange County. Many families also travel or fly in from across the United States.

  • We offer a lifetime rehoming policy. Puppies must be returned to us or placed through our help, ensuring they always have a safe, loving home.

  • We begin enrichment from the very first days of life. Puppies experience Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), early scent introduction, and progressive exposure to sounds, textures, and handling. As they grow, they enjoy car rides, playtime with our five children, and structured curriculum tailored toward therapy and service work. These experiences build confidence and adaptability, preparing puppies for real-world life.

  • Every family receives lifetime breeder support, with guidance on training, health, grooming, and behavior. Many families stay in touch for years, and we love watching our puppies grow.

  • Consider your ability to provide time, consistency, training, and grooming needs. Goldendoodles are intelligent, loving, and people-focused. They thrive in homes where they receive daily love, attention, and interaction. To keep their coats healthy and comfortable, they require professional grooming every 4 to 6 weeks, along with regular brushing at home. These dogs also need consistent socialization and mental stimulation to stay happy and well-balanced. In return, they give unmatched love, loyalty, and companionship.
